University assistant predoctoral in the research area of Geoecology

You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which means:

• While your primary focus will be on research, your work will also include teaching and administrative duties.
• Writing a dissertation on greenhouse gas exchange in wetlands in the reed belt of Lake Neusiedl and the Pürgschachen Moor
• Publishing articles in high-impact international journals and presenting at international conferences
• Independent teaching in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement

We are seeking a candidate with an MSc / diploma in a natural science discipline and expertise in a relevant research area such as biometeorology, geoecology, soil science, or plant ecophysiology, who will complement the existing strengths of the geoecology group. The successful candidate will have:

• Proven skills in data analysis and programming (R-applications or comparable programming languages) using large datasets
• Determination and commitment to scientific excellence
• Willingness and ability to drive to field sites (possession of an appropriate driving licence) and when necessary, to work long hours on-site even under adverse conditions
