University assistant predoctoral

You will play an active role in research, teaching and administration, i.e:

• You will be involved in research projects and publications on early church history.
• You will work on and complete your dissertation in Church History. We expect you to finalise your dissertation agreement within 6-12 months, and present your research question at national and international conferences.
• You will contribute to the redaction process of articles for the Zeitschrift für Antikes Christentum.
• You will participate in doctoral seminars organised by the Institute and in events of the Vienna Doctoral School of Theology and Research on Religion.

• Completed Master's degree in Protestant Theology or a corresponding teacher training programme with excellent grades in church history courses (the degree certificate must be available by the date of employment at the latest) or a comparable study programme
• A keen interest in early church history, a willingness to attend and organise national and international conferences and to work in a team, and good IT user skills
• Very good knowledge of ancient Greek and Latin as well as German and English
• High interest in interdisciplinary exchange with neighbouring disciplines (history, philology, etc.)
